Just like many of us, who soon after becoming a mom realized that breastfeeding isn't as easy and "comes natural" like we all thought it would.  Having a baby born early adds that much stress and tension to the process of  learning the path of motherhood. She endured the stress and troubles many of us moms do when trying to make breastfeeding work.  Her message is beautiful!

"...I always thought breastfeeding was natural and would be easy; however, I quickly learned it was quite the opposite..."

"... When our little boy arrived five weeks early, I was expecting the "crawl to the breast" and perfect latch to happen. Well, it didn't! In the hospital, we were handed a bottle of formula and told that it was ok, that the baby just needed fed. I did not want to give up that easy as I felt that breast-feeding was a challenge that I wanted to fight for. After a few months and with the help of other mothers, lactation consultants and La Leche League leaders, we were finally successful..."

"...Now, I couldn't imagine any other way. Breastfeeding is so much more then just providing my baby with milk..."

"...I know that breastfeeding was right for my son and my family. But the one thing I have learned through this journey is that which ever way a mother chooses to feed her child, wether breast or formula, is the right way for them."

Motherhood is hardly ever what we expect. Life is full of trials, challenges, sadness, happiness, love, heartbreaking. We need to come together as mothers and support each other.  We cannot do it alone. Sullivan was able to overcome her trials because she had a great support system and others to help her through the process.  No matter what your choice is on how to nurture your child we must remember to nurture each other with love and support.
