"We will see you again" | Family Portraits by Talita Springer Photography

This is my second hardest blog I have written, so bear with me as I type this through the tears. I will try to make this short and straight to the point. Back in 2013 I met the sweetest and most happy couple expecting their first child who hired me for their maternity & newborn photoshoot.  It was such an honor to photograph this young couple starting their family. It was obvious from the start that Ryan was shy in front of the camera, but the pictures showed the excitement he had for his first child and the love he had for his beautiful wife, Jessica.

One month after the photoshoot, Ryan was killed in an accident during a military assignment while Jessica was 33 weeks pregnant and alone in Germany, thousands of miles away from family. In one instant she became a widow and a single parent. She flew home 34 weeks pregnant and buried Ryan.

You may read Ryan & Jessica's story part 1 blog here and here.

Jessica gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Brayden and has since lived every day remembering, honoring, cherishing and loving Ryan. Jessica takes every opportunity to teach her son all about his father, and the amazing man he was.

Even though Jessica moved away, we still maintain contact. Through one of our chats she told me about a photo project she would like and I am honored to be trusted with such a personal and private moment in her life.  The image below is the product of our collaboration.

Here is an eight minute video in memory of Ryan and his family. A little long but worth watching.  I hope you enjoy learning a little more about the Austin Family.
